He or she will serve as a “hands-on” senior level business development professional who can lead by example and bring new opportunities for growth to the company by implementing proven sales & marketing strategies and programs into the organization. Specific tasks include complete re-designing of global marketing strategy and sales process, developing proposal and pitch materials, developing marketing campaigns, developing and growing the sales pipeline, and maintaining communications with prospective clients. Ultimately, this position is responsible for meeting annual sales, margin and profitability targets established by the corporation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Re-design and execute global marketing strategy to maximize alignment of  the company’s core strengths with markets in order to support business plan.
  • Create a distinctive and sustainable value proposition to support business plan.
  • Enhance sales & business development effectiveness through setting up and driving appropriate marketing strategies.
  • Responsible for global pricing strategies and quoting process.
  • Guide and monitor the Marketing Communications for all the product lines to build brand equity. Produce product support literature and advertisements.
  • Build and maintain database of market activity, competitor products, trends and other developments that may impact our products or ability to sell them.
  • Develop pricing strategy in line with corporate objectives.
  • Create customized marketing campaigns for presentation to clients.
  • Sales & Business Development
  • Create and maintain revenue growth and gross margin plans for markets served.
  • Enhance global sales & business development effectiveness through setting up and driving appropriate business processes and marketing strategies.
  • Prospect and qualify new business opportunities and programs to grow customer base in the North American market.
  • Personally acquire, develop, and manage key accounts.
  • Provide detailed sales plans focusing on defining the scope of the opportunity, product strategies while timing deliverables and profitability.
  • Grow revenues and gross margins through existing client base and new account development.
  • If and where required, select and evaluate external Sales Representation organizations.
  • Oversee and manage North-America Sales Representatives and Global Distribution.
  • Develop strategic intelligence network channels and distribution to keep abreast of new product development activity, market trends, pricing alternatives and changes.
  • Align strategic plans with engineering for the development of new products based on market requirements, including custom design applications and new product introductions.
  • Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of the broad range of the company’s products.
  • Actively engage in the Sales & Operations planning process to drive superior service results for our customers.
  • Maintain and update sales reports on a regular basis with customer activities.
  • Contribute to the personal development of the Sales and Marketing team through excellent leadership and performance management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10-15 years in a similar capacity within an international environment within the manufacturing industry.
  • Electrical/electronic component or industrial component manufacturing experience is an asset.
  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing/Commerce or equivalent, or Degree in Engineering with an MBA.
  • Ability to work additional hours outside of normal hours of operation as required.
  • Travel (up to 30%, as business requires).

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Proven track record of successful sales & marketing restructuring and globalizing in an international environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of the marketing mix, ideally within the electrical, electronic or industrial component industry.
  • PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and Word computer skills are required.
  • Proficient in ERP and CRM Systems and programs.
  • Sound knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation.
  • The ability to structure strategic plans and also implement them.
